Flash Media Server 4.0 has been announced at IBC, and it's a powerful release packed with a lot of new features.

Some of the highlights are:

  • IP Multicast

  • P2P RTMFP (Application Level Multicast)

  • Multicast Fusion

  • Fast Switching

  • HTTP Streaming

  • 64-bit support

  • Absolute Timecode

... and much more. The release is specifically interesting to enterprise customers, since it includes a lot of features to better scale within intranets, and as result reduce costs.
