Essential Documentation to Setup Adobe Access DRM for Native iOS Applications

With the new release 2 months ago, Adobe Access added support for native iOS applications. In case you are interested and want to evaluate it, here are the components and the documentation to get you started.

Step 1 - Adobe Access 4.0 for content protection

You might already have Adobe Access in your infrastructure, but in case not, here are the steps. If you only want to evaluate the iOS component and not the end-to-end workflow, you can skip to Step 4) and use the encrypted sample videos.

1. Request a 90 day trial from Adobe.com.

2) Familiarize yourself with the Certificate Enrollment Guide.

3. Follow the Quick-Start Guide to setup the server.

Step 2 - Adobe Access Key Server (optional) for DRM protected HLS to iOS

This step is optional, and only required if Remote Key Delivery is enabled in a policy. It improves the level of security.

1. Follow the Using the Adobe Key Server guide.

Step 3 - Adobe Media Server** **5 Professional for HLS packaging and DRM protection

1. Request an Adobe Media Server trial, or use Adobe Media Server 5 on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

2. Follow the PHLS and Adobe Access configuration steps.

Step 4 - Native iOS video player with Adobe Access protection

1. Read the Adobe Access iOS API guide (includes sample application and encrypted videos).

2. Follow the API guide for advanced implementations.
